CONSUMPTION METHODS
How cannabis is taken changes how fast it works and how long it lasts. The golden rule with slower-onset methods like edibles is 'start low and go slow' to avoid taking more before the first dose takes effect.

This hub is an educational reference only — not medical or legal advice. Cannabis affects everyone differently, and its legal status varies by jurisdiction and changes frequently. Consult a licensed healthcare professional and verify current local law before acting.
Inhalation (flower / vaporizer)
Fast-acting because cannabinoids enter the bloodstream through the lungs. Vaporizing heats below combustion, reducing smoke.
Edibles
Slow onset and long duration. THC is converted in the liver to a more potent metabolite, so 'start low and go slow' is the golden rule.
Sublingual tinctures
Drops held under the tongue absorb through oral tissue, offering more predictable dosing than edibles.
Topicals
Balms and lotions applied to the skin for localized comfort. Non-transdermal topicals typically do not cause intoxication.
